no reconstruction plan

Write a comment This is a good idea. I hope you get some takers on your offer. Tangentially though, I wish you'd remove the phrase stating that we had "no reconstruction plan". Of course we did - spend $15 billion fixing the infrastructure, employing massive amounts of people, spurring the economy, and improving the lives of impoverished Iraqis, many of whom had been living in and around streams of open sewage for a decade. As you know, it worked quite well in Kurdistan, but exceptionally poorly in other areas, primarily because of the jihadis and insurgents equal and opposite DEconstruction plans. So it sadly did not go according to plan. But we had a plan. And it even sounded reasonable to most Westerners. Remember, the Japanese and Germans in general accepted quite a similar plan, and we're all pals today.
