KABUL, Afghanistan (Nov 28) – An Afghan and coalition security force arrested a local Haqqani leader in Sabari district, Khost province, today.

In other International Security Assistance Force news throughout Afghanistan:

Yesterday, an Afghan and coalition security force conducted a mission to arrest a senior Taliban leader in Sar-e Pul district, Sar-e Pul province.  The leader controls Taliban insurgents operating in Jowzjan and Sar-e Pul provinces, and is thought to be responsible for attacks against Afghan and coalition forces in both provinces. During the operation, two insurgents were killed and one suspected insurgent was detained.

Yesterday, Afghan and coalition officials confirmed that one of the two insurgents killed during a combined Afghan and coalition operation Sunday, in Jaghatu district, Wardak province, was Zubayr, a local insurgent leader who supplied weapons to insurgents throughout the district.
